KYLE LUND -

I’m Kyle Lund—

Rugby coach, Educator, and Founder of Tackle the Mindset. I’ve worn many hats over the years, from soldier and HGV driver to school - head of year and small business owner, but one thing’s remained constant: my drive to help people grow, overcome barriers, and unlock their potential.

In 2024, while working as a pastoral manager in a Bradford school, I started a Year 10 rugby team from scratch. In a school with no rugby culture and a diverse student base, 22 boys signed up. Many were facing challenges with behaviour, attendance, or confidence. I coached them in my own time, built trust with families, and watched them grow not only as players but as young men. Behaviour improved, attendance went up, and some students even went on to join community clubs.

That experience lit the spark that became Tackle the Mindset: a venture using rugby as a structured intervention to build discipline, respect, and ambition in young people, particularly those with SEMH and SEND needs.

Before this, I served in the British Army as a specialist military driver, gaining leadership, resilience, and technical training under pressure. I went on to manage a successful roofing and property services business, honing my skills in operations, customer care, and team building. My time as a pastoral manager gave me deep insight into education, safeguarding, and what truly works for students on the edge.

Tackle the Mindset brings all of that together. Today, I work with schools and clubs across West Yorkshire, helping young people believe in who they can become—on and off the pitch
